The NFT market momentum that began to build nearly a month ago continued to snowball this week, as we've now seen daily NFT trades nearly triple since early November. ETH's stagnant price action coupled with the excitement generated by the upcoming Trial of Jimmy the Monkey is what kickstarted the bulk of this run, but the most impressive part is the follow-through that we've seen from many of the mid-tier PFP collections that are surging to new highs/
The recent surge in activity has positioned us for some big potential opportunities over the next month or so. Some things to keep a close eye on during that time frame:
$BLUR airdrop in late January which has the potential to really send prices flying due to the sheer amount of liquidity injected into the most active NFT buyer's wallets
Trial of Jimmy the Monkey mint will present plenty of opportunities on secondary. Dates to watch for are 1/18 when the "multi-week interactive mint" begins, and 2/8 when the reveal is slated to kick off. Keep up with updates here
Memeland Captainz drop which is set to do explosive volume upon release (more on this later)
Ether, one of the most hyped projects of the last half year, is slated to mint sometime over the next two months
Moonbird Mythics were promised by the PROOF team sometime Q1 2023. This one feels like it'll launch closer to March, but it's worth keeping an eye on Moonbird and Oddity prices as we get closer

BAYC - Up from 72E to 80E as momentum continues to build in anticipation of the upcoming Trial of Jimmy the Monkey mint
GM Pepes - Ran from 1.69E to as high as 11E as avid Pepe fans rushed in to get their hands on one of the 100 Geometric versions of the worlds favorite frog
Toys by 0xTechno - .1E whitelist only mint that peaked at 2E and has since settled around 1E replicated the legendary Ringers collection
This is Nouns - First ever edition mint from the official NounsDAO. Minted for .05E, peaked at 0.25E and settled around 0.1E
Pendings - Mysterious generative art collection that minted out at .025E and skyrocketed to 0.5E on the first night. Currently sitting at 0.35E.
Kubz by Keungz - Minted out at a controversial .469E mint price have since silenced the naysayers and settled at 1.15E floor
Rekt Guy - All time high sale of 42.69E on a 1/1 sent the floor flying from 1E to 1.7E in a matter of hours
Memeland Set to Kick off 2023 With Most Anticipated Mint in Months
Memeland, the brainchild of the founder of 9GAG Ray Chan, is officially launching its primary PFP collection, Memeland Captainz, on Wednesday, January 4th. The launch has been in the works for over half a year now, and with the wild success of related projects "YOU THE REAL MVP" and "Potatoz", Captainz are positioned to steal all the headlines this week.
Owning a Captain will give you access to real-world events, 9GAG drops, and the ability to eventually generate $MEME, the projects central that has continuously been teased over the last few months. Ray's vision is to create a creator NFT marketplace that rewards content creators and active users in some way and his previous success growing 9GAG has plenty of people fully bought into the vision.

Memelist spots have been selling for upwards of 10E, and the general consensus from some of the most active traders has been that an opening floor price of 8-12E(!!!) is to be expected.
There is still no set reveal date, but one thing that is certain is that those that quickly pick up on desirable traits when the reveal does eventually come will reap some massive rewards.
Blur Moves to Enforce Royalties and Announces Creator Airdrop

After making the controversial decision a couple of months ago to make creator royalties optional, Blur has announced that they will slowly be going back on this move and incrementally moving creator royalties back up.
The platform has already moved to a minimum of 0.5% royalty on all immutable collections and will add an additional 0.5% to the minimum threshold periodically. It's no secret that one of the driving factors that led Blur to capture so much market share was the 0 fee structure. To protect themselves from losing users, they've stated that if another marketplace begins capturing market share by limiting royalties, they will price match and drop royalties again until the other marketplace raises them.
Hopefully soon, the discussion about blur will be centered around how excited everyone is about how much free money they received, instead of how angry we all are about incremental royalty changes. I sure can't wait.
